2017 Spring Retreat
The annual Tennessee Spring Retreat will feature both an outstanding pastor and a Christian humorist, songwriter and inspirational speaker. The event will take place again in the cozy little Smoky Mountain town of Pigeon Forge. Recent wildfires devastated the area but hotel officials have assured us that all of the businesses in Pigeon Forge were spared. In fact, officials are saying the best way to help the people of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is to come for a visit.
Special musical guest this year is Aaron Wilburn. Aaron was born in Alabama, and early in his life realized he had a dream to be a songwriter. He has more than accomplished that with numerous awards including Dove awards and Grammy nominations resulting in his inclusion in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. His wit and humor have made him “one of the most beloved humorist/comedians in the Christian world.” His travels with the Gaither Homecoming Tour and videos brought Aaron to the attention of millions who have fallen in love with his down-home southern humor and the stories from everyday life.
Since a kidney transplant in May 2010, Aaron has become an ambassador for the Kidney Foundation. Even with such a serious subject, he will have you in stitches, as he tells of the results in his life from having a female kidney…he finds laughter, and he finds joy in every situation, and you will find inspiration, and hope in the humor/comedy of Aaron Wilburn.
Our speaker for the retreat is Kent Barwick from Miller County, Georgia. He came to faith in Christ under the dynamic ministry of Damon C. Dodd in 1983. He has been married to Cheryl for 32 years and they have two children and three grandchildren. He pastors a growing church in southwest Georgia, the Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church where he has been for 14 years. Kent brings a wealth of life experiences, as well as solid Biblical preaching. He is a great speaker and we know you are just going to love him.
The retreat is open to all. The cost is only $60 per person with a $10 discount for registering and paying in full before March 1. The room charge is $165 for two nights lodging.
