Tennessee Golf Classic Raises Needed Funds to Host National Association

Tennessee Promotional Director Glenn Poston reports that the first Tennessee Free Will Baptist Golf Classic was a lot of fun and a huge success. The tournament, held at The Hermitage Golf Course on October 18, was a fund raiser to assist the state association in raising funds to help host the National Convention when it meets in Memphis in July of 2012. "We give God the praise for providing a window of playable weather for us to get in eighteen holes of play. Storms, rain and hail were threatening all around Nashville on that day. We even had to pull all of the players off the course due to severe lightning but after about thirty minutes the players resumed playing and everyone finished the course," Poston said. The tournament attracted a total of 60 players for the two man scramble and raised approximately $12,000. The best news, Poston said was that combined with what the Tennessee churches have already contributed, we now have the money raised for our part of the national convention!
