Pioneer Missionary Margaret Merkh Dies

Antioch, TN—Margaret Merkh, former missionary to Ivory Coast and France, died February 21, 2012, at the age of 82. Mrs. Merkh lived with her daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Redd and Beth’s family. Following language school in Switzerland, the Merkhs arrived in Gouméré, Ivory Coast, in 1958. After four years in Africa and a stateside assignment, the Merkhs pioneered the work in France (1966-1975), starting churches in four cities: St. Nazaire, Rennes, Lorient, and Nantes. Mrs. Merkh is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth (Redd), and four sons—Daniel James Jr., Timothy Karl, Raymond Earl, and Jonathan Mark.
