Antioch, TN—Interim General Director Clint Morgan announced today that David and Kendra Dodson will leave Montevideo, Uruguay, May 26, 2011 to return to the States. Through prayer, discussion with others, and in consultation with field and Mission leadership—we have come to the conclusion that Uruguay is not the best ministry fit for the Dodsons to fulfill their commitment to the Great Commission.
“This talented and dynamic couple truly wish to serve God wherever He wants them to be,” stated Jeff Turnbough, deputy director of field operations. “It is with disappointment that they acknowledge that Uruguay is not the place for them.”
“The Mission is committed to assisting David and Kendra as they seek to determine where their personalities, gifts, talents, and abilities can best be used to expand the Kingdom,” affirmed Morgan. “It took extreme courage to accept and admit that the work for which they’d trained and had entered with excitement was not where they needed to be. I look forward to helping them work toward a move that will allow them the opportunity to maximize their giftedness.”
The Dodsons plan to live in Monett, Missouri, while seeking additional guidance, reassessing their gifts, and retooling for ministry.
David and Kendra were appointed in April 2008 and departed for Uruguay in September 2009.
